6 month red grow challenge complete...my hair grew nearly 4 inches. Now what to do with the red? I didn't want to dye my hair again....and lose my gray streak again....and I certanly didn't want to cut it. So I got an idea...when I braid my hair...it roots are black, the ends are red......so I braided my hair and dyed the ends of the braids. Check it out....its back to my natural color and where the color is a bit intense...that will fade over time when the hair is washed.

Wooden Comb
Watch "348. Wood comb" on YouTube I was inspired by my har idol, 1ballerina, to give this a try. If i didnt like it...didnt cost much. However...my only thought....how did i make it this many years without one? For the first time in years...combed my hair....in its curliest state...no snags, no tangles, no itch afterwards.
Wooden combs have been around since biiblical days....wish i knew they were still around....i would have bought one years ago. Now that i know....gonna. get a few more.

If I can't eat it...my hair wont feed it
Watch "345. If I can't eat it, my hair won't feed it." on YouTube be very aware of what you use on your hair...and why. Dont fall for the hype that some chemical is good for your hair just cuz a label says so. Wheres the research....wheres the proof? If you are allergic to tree nuts....why would you use a product made from tree nuts on your hair? These are things to think about.

Happy Days
Watch "339. Happy day updates" on YouTube because of God's grace, my good days far outweigh my bad days. Then there are days like this day. I woke up...pain free, the kids on the bus were mostly behaved, and....good hair day, I came home to a gift from my daughter, coffee from mom, went back to work...had a good run. Came home...dropped off stuff, headed to prayer meeting...more good news.
I even slept well. If all of my days were like this day...my face would hurt from smiling all the time.

Curlformers and rain
Haha me and my curlformer set got caught in a deluge of water. Im not talking, just a little rain...im talking about a Cincinnati cloudburst. 19 seconds and i was soaked....hair, clothes under my supposedly waterproof jacket, boots, everything soggy. After drying off and changing clothes...then I noticed my hair. Instead of reverting to curly....it remained parted and curly. So i twisted the parts. Rain and natural hair can make some fun styles. Haha
This...is a repost...the first post didn't load the pictures and part of the text.

Rainy day hair
Got caught in the rain...flatironed hair went back to curly. Single french braid from back to the front....and anchored on the side to keep it out of my face. Odd as it sounds....it handled like it was still strait...but I'm ready to face the rain.

Flatironed hair
Flat ironed my hair...about 90% strait. To get it any straiter would require more heat and product. The willingness to wrap it every night and touch up when it curls back up. Not willing to do all of that.
What I am willing to do...put curlformers in to further stretch it out and see if it will last a week. Braid it for the second week. I was quite surprised to see all the gray. Hahaha I used to have a few strands here and there in the front....imagine my surprise to see its all over....front, back, and sides. That's almost worth cutting off the red for...but I'll let it grow out some more first.
Red, white, and zebra...finished
Watch "327. Hardware attached. Finally finished!" on YouTube its now a clutch style shoulder bag. Of course...the strap is detachable. Watch the video for information on how I did it. Also watch vid 326 to see how to attach the d-ring and create a durable strrap.

Attaching the hardware!
The red, white and zebra now has a strap....with silver swivel clasp and silver d-rings. I'm using gromlets to go thru all layers for a much more secure anchor. The strap is grossgrain ribbon encased in zebra tape.

Red, white and cougar
Rawr! Meet the cougar! This is the cousin of Red, white and zebra. A little wilder. It has two inside pockets in solid red on one side, white on the other, cougar on the top. It was a fun pattern to do. This is fast becoming my fave hobby other than knitting.
All about Zebra
Watch "321. All about Zebra" on YouTube so funny story...my daughter is zebra happy. She has zebra, trimed in pink. Zebra trimmed in teal, zebra trimmed in zebra....multicolored zebra, everything zebra.
I went to set up the materials for the purse I was making her and sent her pics and text...not saying it was for her....what do you think of this combo...and this one...and this one? She says, "oh those are all nice, of course you know me...I like the pink and white zebra" hahaha so thats how the colors were chosen. Pink zebra, white zebra...and if i had found some teal....i would have added it. Haha
Then she came by he house for a visit...she went to the kitchen...baked me some cookies...shes a good kid. While she was in there...I pretended to admire her purse...which is gorgeous...but. in actuality, I was measuring it. Its her fave...so I figure the size of it would be perfect for my special project.
Now...I have let her in on it...and this is the All About Zebra bag!
