Inventory codes

Had to be done. I've avoided it like you wouldn't believe but no choice left. There are now 26 consistant styles I make and I'm no longer creating as the orders come in. So the inventory codes were long overdue.  Example...there are 11 available bamboo jasper agate earrings...but one style code...then a style #. Like the 3rd style in the series is bja3-e. The 4th style is bja4-e, etc.

Most start with AUGS which means of course, Aptitudes Unlimited Gift Shop. So a pair of earrings like the ones discribed would be. AUGS-BJA4-E. Its simple but works. I can tell at a glance what's what and it will make listings easier.  At first I considered standard codes like sku numbers but that gave me headaches when I worked retail and currently...that's not me.

The codes I created will work even if I hired someone to help...the only variable would be their initials added to the code somewhere, ex: AUGS-LP-BJA4-E. I figure that would be best becuz say for instance I hired a crafter...and they had a skill I do not possess...and the customer wanted a repeat...I could look right at the inventory code and know I need to rehire that individual for a custom work. Example...crochet...I do not do it well. I'm an expert knitter...with 33 yrs experience, and even though I actually learned to crochet first...I crochet like an newbie. Anyway...thought I'd share. 

A few changes...

You may have noticed there have been a few changes to the format of the blog. This is becuz life itself offers changes and challenges. The artfire mini store at the bottom of the page for example...that will be going away soon. When artfire changes their format on the 15th...I will not be joining them, instead I will be removing the ministore and links and selling directly from the blog. Stay tuned for that....shipping will remain free unless specifically statd otherwise. Also for clarification...when I upload design pics...unless stated in post...those designs will be on sale. Even if its in the works...it will be considered on sale but won't be available until the finish pic is uploaded. I have always done it hat way for custom items so the customer could see the progress so regular items will simply follow that format. Stay tuned and stay blessed.

Vote is over...

The virdict is...an earrings/necklace set. And the center bead has been switch to an earring as it looks better with the lighter bead as the necklace...thanks @Spinndiva for the suggestion. Anyway...back to it.

Newly formed earwires

very pleased with this batch. Next batch I may try angles. With freeform....its all in the moment. I've have had interesting results doing free forms...unduplicatable results. Love when that happens.

This is bamboo agate accented with silver beads. Should this be a necklace/earrings set or a 3 tiered necklace. Majority rules. Votes will be taken until Sunday. Thanks. I bound it together as a place marker so they don't get mixed up with others I made...but when I looked at it....maybe this is one necklace instead of a pair of earrings and a necklace set.
