For the Postal Worker

I wrote this to go with the ear warmer I knitted as a Christmas gift to the Postal Worker.

You deliver mail to us all days but one...in torrential rain, sleeting, icy snow or blinding sun.

We may grumble about bills and and junk, fuss at you running by about family, when we are in too much of a rush to yell at the ones we're upset with...and all the while you smile and are pleasant.
Then there's the unlabeled box and the catch all porch, the steps we forgot to salt and air drying crafts,
in your way....don't think we don't feel guilty for not clearing you a path.

You bring the mail faithfully and rarely make a mistake. And no matter how unorganized...outgoing mail...you still take.

We appreciate you...we do. Although life has us zipping to and fro, I'm stopping to give you this present to let you know.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Have a happy new years with very warm ears. Wash in cool water with mild soap and gentle care, and for years it will warm when you wear.
