Crock pot.......nope

Found a crock pot.........covered in like 30 years of spiderwebs and dust....nope...its a "penncrest cooker fryer" of course I had to get all the dust and such off of it to read that on it. Gotta test if it works but I have decided to go ahead and buya crock pot. This cooker/fryer has more intensive temp controlss than I need.

Color popped

From pastel to vibrance. The gelling process brought out the color and brightness I was looking for.

The coral reef blue is a deep turquoise now. You can see the sparkle in the pink. I can't wait to cut this open!

Ph balanced dish water

Yop...you read that right. I ran out of gloves so washing the soaping dishes was not an immediate option. I dropped some ph strips in the soap pots....they all turned black...would have burned me if I tried to clean them at that point in time.

My friend "jug o vinegar" was there to help out....I pour some into each soap pot and over other things floating in the sink and droopped in more ph strips. They turned green, yellow and red. Green is fine, red from the vinegar is fine. Yellow is neutral...totally fine. Washed most of the dishes, pouring the vinegar dishwater over the remaining dishes as I went. The last soap pot was green by then so I finished up. Knowledge is a wonderful thing...no waiting 24 to 48 hours to clean up. Neutralization of the lye and get-r-done!

Progression of the vanilla

I love making the 7up pound cake to see the vanilla progress thru these various color changes.

Here we have fresh (still in the mold), fresh cut 24 hours later, 36 hours and 48 hours. Gotta love that.

Ombre nails

My first attempt....then I added a glittery pink as a top coat...which gave it an entirely different look. I got the idea from Pink Addictive from youtube. Check her out when you get a chance.

Lady, get a clue!

Proud vagabond........lady bum, smoking a cig at white castle this morning, 5:30 a.m....came to my carr and said "mam...I got .40 cents...I need .60 to get a cup of coffee." I said, "how's about I just buy you some coffee?" She said "oh thank you...God bless you...here's my 40 cents. Maybe I can work towards a cheese burger." So I ordered my coffee, her coffee, 2 cheese burgers . While I waited...I put her 40 cents in this cig box...along with a few dollars in change that was in the multibox of my car, 2 lollipops and the few cigs that were already in there. Offered it to her with the food. She snubbed her nose at the generic cigs. Wow. Really. There's another person, down on their luck that I pass everyday...he'll take anything....socks, shoes, food...this mini care kit. Duh.

I dont give of myself that often cuz generally in Cincinnati, there is a large segment of folks that dont need help....standing on a corner bumming is their "job"....usually theres something that gives them away...like designer clothes, neatly pressed or 300.00 gym shoes. Usually I dont give to guys...cuz they cn survive. Females on the other hand....well I once gave 10.00 to a lady who was on the street with 3 kids by the McDonlds by where I was working....and one asked "Mommy...do we get to eat today?" That broke my heart. At the time, my kids were around the same age...we are all 3 paychecks away from that situation. I said "hey....feed your babies." I ordered my coffee and went back to my office. At that point in time...McD's would give free refills if you brought them bck the cup.....so going to get my refill ...seen the lady....she and her children were sitting in a booth...they had food, she didnt. I walked over to her and gave her enough money to get something to eat. Turns out....she left an abusive relationship, lost her job cuz of lack of daycare and they were living in a car. So when I seen that lady today...figured I'd help. I got a bit of a surprise when she dissed me cuz of my cigs. I prayed on it....I did the right thing, even if her attitude was wrong. I'd do it again....in fact...did it again on the way home from second route.

To that lady, God bless you and whatever form He sends a blessing to you...accept it. That is all.

Blessings Day

I'm calling today Blessings Day cuz today...I was gifted a personal bible by 2 wonderful folks from church and when I got home I was informed that the family bible is now mine. I received my prayer partner today....the name on the paper made me jump up and down, so many things have happened today....I couldn't make it up if I tried. Its just so surreal. I don't think its coincidence...I think God is working in my life and arming me with tools and armor for something that's coming up.

Gonna be a blessing to someone else while I'm being blessed.

A quick trick to speed things up

Here's 100 cards and envelopes. I had an hour. I flapped the cards, then the envelopes . Signed all the cards....using this method...open to the center of the stack, sign on the right, fold the card to the left, sign the next card....con't. That allows you to sign all the cards in only the amount of time it takes to sign your name. Then place into envelopes. Line up the flaps and follow the sealing method in vid 572.

Not much change....a deeper yellow but other than that, the wait continues.

Crown twist out

 Watch "543. Crown twist-out" on YouTube gonna put my hair back up after washing, but had to show the perfect, face framing wave pattern the crown twist creates.

Nails done

 Watch "541. Nails polished, and a bit of randomness." on YouTube  and i picked a really pretty but pale pink. This color will make my nails look longer until they actually are.

Headlights at night: before

This is the headlights, at night, when they we're still cloudy. The visability was greatly reduced. The illumination didn't go past 3 feet. These pics were taken at 9:25 pm, Friday 5/11/2012.
