New technology

New tech is a great tbing. Here is the remote to my new converter box...only one in the whole store. Cost twice as much as the one that died but before i could gripe about that....i noted some features my old one doesnt have. It has two buttons at the top for power...one for tv and one for the converter box. It has hook ups for video games to plug directly into it...and a vcr...and a 3rd for dvd players. The caption.....there are more than 20 different options for captions...color, size, fonts, background color, type face, etc. I got tired of fiddling with all the choices....before I stopped counting. No more two remotes tied together...just one remote that works! Loving this.

Yes we have Christians here...several of them. Candy...for halloween? No...sorry, wrong house.

This sign will stay on the front door till all the folks that participate should be in bed.

Wash me...

When you see a dirty bus....you generally see the words "wash me" written in the dust. Otherwise you see some "really rude" words written in the dust. My bus says "Jesus Saves" someone decided to add to it...so the emergency door has 2 little crosses and 1 big one. Then i get to the lot this afternoon and seen a bus with "Jesus Cares" written in the dust.  Wow. Plant a seed and watch what grows.

Sick!

......and dragged down tired feeling. Clogged up and congested. That didnt stop me from going to work Monday and Tuesday. Sick to stomach and nothing staying down...still went to work Wednesday. Today, woke up with a fever,  popped some tylenol, and was still gonna go to work until I looked at the clock....I slept clean past my first route. I'll get myself together by the second route...then get thru tomorrow and I can take Saturday and Sunday to let this thing run its course. Oh well...should have realized it was coming...its October, seems this happens every year, when the seasons change.  Next time...I'll be better prepared.

Bad popcorn day

I stuck a bag of micro corn in the microwave....and it caught on fire...inside the bag....first time that ever happened. Second bag....only a cluster, seen here, burned...but the rest was saved. I didnt know popcorn catch on fire, let alone burn quietly inside the bag surprising you upon opening it. Fortunately there was dishwater right next to me....so....entire bag...into the water. Then i poked holes in it ....let the water drain....doubled checked it and once sure the fire was out....threw it away.

For future referrence....be aware that it can happen so you can avoid a bad popcorn day.

A series of well put-together cats

That's the name of my fave blankey...with the words printed right on it. This is my fave cat on the blankey. After 11 years..its failing in a few places. If i don't find another one... I'll be patching this up. I don't like a lot of designs but when I find one I like...I  hold onto it.

Inventory codes

Had to be done. I've avoided it like you wouldn't believe but no choice left. There are now 26 consistant styles I make and I'm no longer creating as the orders come in. So the inventory codes were long overdue.  Example...there are 11 available bamboo jasper agate earrings...but one style code...then a style #. Like the 3rd style in the series is bja3-e. The 4th style is bja4-e, etc.

Most start with AUGS which means of course, Aptitudes Unlimited Gift Shop. So a pair of earrings like the ones discribed would be. AUGS-BJA4-E. Its simple but works. I can tell at a glance what's what and it will make listings easier.  At first I considered standard codes like sku numbers but that gave me headaches when I worked retail and currently...that's not me.

The codes I created will work even if I hired someone to help...the only variable would be their initials added to the code somewhere, ex: AUGS-LP-BJA4-E. I figure that would be best becuz say for instance I hired a crafter...and they had a skill I do not possess...and the customer wanted a repeat...I could look right at the inventory code and know I need to rehire that individual for a custom work. Example...crochet...I do not do it well. I'm an expert knitter...with 33 yrs experience, and even though I actually learned to crochet first...I crochet like an newbie. Anyway...thought I'd share. 

A few changes...

You may have noticed there have been a few changes to the format of the blog. This is becuz life itself offers changes and challenges. The artfire mini store at the bottom of the page for example...that will be going away soon. When artfire changes their format on the 15th...I will not be joining them, instead I will be removing the ministore and links and selling directly from the blog. Stay tuned for that....shipping will remain free unless specifically statd otherwise. Also for clarification...when I upload design pics...unless stated in post...those designs will be on sale. Even if its in the works...it will be considered on sale but won't be available until the finish pic is uploaded. I have always done it hat way for custom items so the customer could see the progress so regular items will simply follow that format. Stay tuned and stay blessed.

Nice look

Tried on my daughters glasses. They look cute on me but had to take them off of course...she needs them to see, and i need to close my eys since now they hurt. Haha. In other news my hair is rocking!

Parade Aftermath

Haha had great fun walkiing in a parade...now im having a heavenly time resting on this icepack! Right before i headed for home, we got word "Best Church Float"...there wiill be a trophy. Yay! God is good.

Silk scarf in the car

I was changing the silk scarf i keep in the car...and it occured to me that ive never shared this. Just as you sleep on a silk, satin or poly pillow or pillow case to protect your hair....cover the headrest of your car with a satin, silk, or poly scarf. Your hair will slide right off of it and never snag or break like when its exposed to the headrest itself.

Also ...if you have long hair...use a long scarf that drapes past where your hair stops. Also....if its an issue with headroom...example: tall people in compact cars...pin a scarf on the ceiling. This way, instead of little tiny bits of hair on your ceiling...and snags that you feel on your scalp....that stops.

Also...carry a satin scarf in your purse...for when you are riding in someone elses vehicle. For that matter...for those to whom this is news...sleeping with a satin pillow case or scarf protects your hair while you sleep.

No snags, no breakage, equals length retention. Growing hair is automatic, keeping it...thats the trick.

Found this weight lose app. Granted I'm down to a size 12 now which is a far cry from the 215 I used to weigh but it a cool app so I thought I'd share it.  Former weight: 215. Current weight: 150 to164 ...last physical said 164 and I wore a size 16. Now I wear 122 and 14 depending on the garment. Once I find a scale...I'll post the correct weight.

The pic is me in my "round the house" gear...trying on a shrug I was making for mom. All the clothes were a 16...didn't realize just how big they were on me tillbthe pic was taken. I remember having to pull at the seams before sitting down just so thighs wouldn't feel trapped. Now when I wear this size sweats...have to hold the waist when I sit. So they don't fall off. I have since given them away.  When I went to buy replacements, that's when I learned I didn't go down to a 14...but down to a 12.

Anyway get the cool app...and walk with me...it gps your work outs and then tells you how far you went in miles and how many calories burned. Also told me I wasn't eating enough to lose weight but I can't worry about that since I eat till I'm full and can't eat any more. Guess I need to worry over more caloric choices instead of how much.

totally random...but I had a great day!

first of all, since I'm the rookie...I have a "hello" route....want to know what that is....remove the "o", its the route that the veterans dont want or wont do. i call it an angels and demons route...cuz the first half are little angels, the second half act like their possessed by...you get the picture.

I take a layover between the two cuz it allows me time to mentally prepare myself for the drama of the second half....basically i get prayed up so they cant steal my joy. well, while on layover, i noticed the clouds in the crossover mirror....looked really pretty, so i took a pic or two of it....you can actually see me taking the pic if you look closely.

then at the end of the day, it started raining....not a big deal in Cincinnati this past week as it has rained everyday for the past week...anyway, it started raining....while the sun was still out. the weather in Cincinnati, always an adventure! anyway, upon leaving the lot....RAINBOW!!! I pulled back into the lot, into a safe place to park and took a picture of it.  Check this out!

It has been brought to my attention that this phone I use...although normally, the greatest phone on Earth...doesn't like java. So when I try to follow a blog from it...it won't do it. It has further come to my attention that a lot of my friends have blogs. So...please leave your blog in the comment box so I can add you when I get to the computer. That'll show the phone, huh?! Anyway...I look forward to visiting the blogs or current friends and new ones too.
