Rolling the ends

I put rollers on the very ends while holding the hair away from the face...that makes the rest of it... which is different lengths in spots....hang in a wave. When it drys, it will have a page boy effect.  More importantly the ends wont unravel or frizz.

Separate and spray...hair prep.

Adding extensions is a wonderful protective style. However the way folks tend to prep the hair....by basically not prepping it....leaves them detangling, running out of time, and picking up alot if shed hair, and getting frustrated. Then when you moisturize....it makes it stick to your hands, clothes, and surrounding surfaces. All this, before you even spray it.

Better way: Before using the hair....prep it by cutting it in half...if you dont want the finished style to be too long, otherwise, use at the length it comes. The hair in the pack is 60 inches total lengthh...30 inches folded over. 15. Inches is long enough. For most folks....so cut it in half. Separate it into sections and place in a grid like seen here. Spray with moisturizer. Now when its time to apply a section of hair...all you have to do is grab and go. Also if you dont use all the hair, you can just pick them. Up the same way you put it down and place them in the proper order to form one large section...rubber band and store.

Placeholder updo

As you can see....this hair style started with place holder braids. Before going to bed... Cross them to the other side of the head...tuck them into the undone section that has been braided upwards. Then use bobby pins or hair clips to hold in place...blend the hair in front ...towards the back and anchor with a decorative clip. Style took about 7 mins. Wrapped it with a bonnet and done....perfect by morning.

Place holder braids

Regardless of if the hair is being braid from loose hair....or box braids being extended...place holder braids keep the sections separated while you go to work or run errands. You can blend them in, do an updo or whatever and get back to work on it later.

My box braids

With a geometric parting pattern in better lighting. I've extended the ends...but I'm only partially finished. I used the place holder braid method to cover the fact that half the hair is long now and half isn't.

Peach wood comb and patina

Its been a week and the comb has gotten darker. From what I understand, this is called patina, its the natural protection wood affords itself...and as it ages it will get even darker. I love things with character.....but this has personality too. Gotta love that!

Here are the pics I took when I got the comb and the pics I took just now.....compare the difference. Neat huh?!
