My pimple zapper...

I was watching tv and they were talking about home made acne relief for under 10 bucks...suggested agave nectar mixed with asprin. Haha rediculous....it may work...if you KNOW you aren't allergic to asprin. Then they went over popular products on the market...outrageous.

What to do if you have skin so sensitive that it reacts to the seams in your clothes? Use what I use. My pimple zapper is the simplest thing on the planet...baking soda. I keep seeing the most rediculous concotions and produts on the market ranging in price from 7.00 to 50.00 bucks....or more. I buy a 1.00 box of baking soda about a month, among other things....I use it as a face scrub.

I wet my face and apply a paste of baking soda and water to it....adding more to any spots that's excessily oily or has the threat of a breakout. I scrub it...leave it a few mins, rinse it and go on with life.

I've been doing this for years...no pimples, no acne, no blemishes. Those all disappeared from my "pizza face" when I stopped buy stuff for acne. No matter how gentle the claimed to be...still broke me out. Turns out the active ingredient in a lot of the products...asprin. I'm allegic to asprin, topically as well as internally. I've never heard of anyone being allergic to baking soda and since I use it to wash my hair, and in the bath...I figure try it on my face. Success....it zapps oil, it cleans skin, and it rinses away clean.

Duck tape Wing tips

My fave boots...brass wing tips....one popped off....18 miles away from home. I remember scuffing a sewer grate but didn't realize the scuffle claimed the wing tip till I got home.

What to do? Well, I grabbed a pair of pliers and removed the other one. Then I removed the 3 prongs on both boots that held the wing tips on. I used the remaining wing tip as a pattern to make another set...out. of duck tape. Watch videos #398 and #399 to see how to do this repair. Quick, easy, kinda fun, totally finctional.

I could have made some with armiture wire or simply scrubbed off the deteriorating glue...but I chose to recreate them with duck tape. I think it came out rather well.

Give it a try.

Armiture wire to repair sunglasses

So...you have a pair of sunglasses...or two....brace style or otherwise...and the screw fell out and you don't have another set...no problem!

Take some armiiture wire....20 guage copper, or otherwise. (I've also done this with flux wire and soldered it afterward) here's what you do...make a wirework design on one end of 3 inch length of wire...using a pair of pliers...been the wire back leaving the end strait. Place the wire thru the opening in the frame and lens (brace style) of the glasses from the front so the decorative knot shows...make a lock knot with the wire on the back tightening as needed. If the brace frames has two holes. You can bring both ends thru from the back and make a double decorative knot on the front tightening as you go. Also you can make a wire knot and insert from the back and make a decorative closure.

If you're just reconnecting...make the knot wire...trim the wire down to 1 inch, bend back flush with opening after inserting the wire thru all rings of the frame connector. Wind a knot as close as possible to base...press with plirs. Done.

Curlformers and ORS hair pudding

Here's two ideas revisited. I used ORS olive oil girls pudding as a setting gel with my curlformers...and look at my hair! The set is firm and springy. I admit I didn't like this product at first....it made my twist outs a little funky feeling and it smells like kool-aid. For ponytails...my hair felt a little stiff. However as a setting gel... ka-pow! Firm, soft, shiny hold. You can tell looking at the back where its twisted...it doesn't do well on my hair by itself....but with. The roller set...that's a whole different look.

I have used setting gels, setting lotions, plain water and many other standard styling aids and the set wouldn't last, would look dry and there was no firmness to the curl....it would flop about an hour or two later.

This....is a whole new day...a match that can't be beat. I love this product for the purpose of rolling my hair on the curlformers. This will be my go to style.
