Drip dry puff

This ....is a bit different from most puffs. Instead of dry or slightly damp hair.....soaking wet is the way to go.

First get some very stretchy hair friendly headband, put over head and let hang around neck. Now wash or co-wash your hair...condish....and soak it with water. I usually pour 4 bowls of water over mine. While there is much water dripping...i put whatever styling aid im gonna use on...going in one direction with the fingers used as a comb. Now pull the headband into place from the front...do NOT comb, brush or manipulate the hair in any way. Any touch at this point becomes frizz.

Grab a roll of paper towels and take 6 or 7 from the roll unbroken...fold in half...wind this around the edge of the head like a headband. Let it catch the majority of the water.

When the water stops dripping, about 10 mins...carefully remove the paper towel and let hair continue to dry. This gives a puff thats more curly and tight and looks shorter than the usual high puff. Try it out...on a 90 degree day...nothing beats it.
