It's not your heart...it's your mouth

It's not your heart...it's your mouth

Can someone look at your heart from a distance and know you love the Lord? Or can they hear the words coming out of your mouth? You can love Jesus with all your heart but how you gonna draw others to Him with gossip, rudeness, and backbiting words?
It's not your heart...it's your mouth

Mean words lead to mean thoughts and mean actions. It leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Kind words have a sweetness that warms the heart. I can look right at you and not know what's in your heart, just as I can look right at you and hear and read the words you say. We are to act in a Godly manner so when it comes to first impressions...
It's not your heart...it's your mouth

There's a reason the bible says "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer." Because anywhere you are...you're in His sight. Unacceptable words lead to unacceptable deeds.
It's not your heart...it's your mouth

Why ask God for a clean heart to make a new start if you just gonna muck it up with dirty words, unpure thoughts, and go along with peer pressure to do and say things you truly don't want to? Get a clean heart...fill it with the word of God, clean words for your mouth, pleasant thoughts for your mind...and find yourself some new peers. God believing, bible quoting, Godly acting peers.
It's not your heart...it's your mouth

When folks start with the gossip...learn to recognize it always starts with "I heard..." yet there's no quotable source...avoid that, excuse yourself, don't participate. Otherwise you are at risk of their foul intent affecting your heart and mind. Some are so deep in that grasp they no longer realize they are doing it. Do you want that to be you?
It's not your heart...it's your mouth

Jesus lives in your heart, so we know that isn't the problem. The deceiver uses words to draw you into sinful deeds...hello? That's a problem. Feed your mouth the word, it will infuse your mind, changing your actions, and strengthening your heart.
So you see...It's not your heart...it's your mouth
Fix it, change it, do it now!
